Chief Deity

Chief Deity belongs to the Earth element and is considered as highly auspicious. The Chief as its name, is the leader of the other Nine Deities. The Chief is the Heavenly Yi, one of the most auspicious stars in Chinese Metaphysics and it presides over life and death. In its presence, all criminals and wrongdoers will flee and the righteous will prevail.

When chief represent an object, then the object would usually be something of great value. The value would not only be measured in terms of material wealth, it would be reflected in terms of status, class and sophistication. A person representation by the Chief would also be someone wise, powerful and merciful. We can symbolise chief as an employer, referee, moneylender or someone in the position of authority. In a legal related enquiry, it could be used to represent the one who takes up a defensive posture or a plaintiff.

In a Qi Men chart, the Chief’s place is in the central position. However, wherever the Chief resides, it exerts a powerful positive influence in such levels that any negative impact will be nullified or lessened. As such, even though the Chief is considered most powerful and effective in a positive structure, it is not a bad situation to have the Chief in a negative structure as it will not cause any harm. The only situation where the Chief will be at its weakest is when it enters the Emptiness stage, when the energies of the palace has totally dissipated or is lost.

Strengths

Chief people possess all of the virtues associated with great leadership. They are benevolent, righteous, courteous, wise and trustworthy. Armed with a strong moral compass and sound guiding principles, their judgement is fair and their decisions impartial. One can always count on Chief people to do the right thing. Sometimes leaders gain power and respect because they are rich or talented. The Chief individuals get ahead on virtue alone.

In Qi Men, the Chief is an auspicious deity. Its presence is always welcome as it brings good fortune. At his most powerful, Chief can bring about miraculous outcomes. However, it is said that “when the Geng, meets with the Chief, it will transform into Enter Graveyard”. The Chief can neutralise or mitigate the inauspicious effects of Geng.

As Chief is the leader of the 10 Deities. He can be taken to represent those with authority including politicians, judges and other authoritative figures. His influence can help ensure that justice is served and that the good prevail in legal or moral quandaries. He also ensures that resources go where they are needed the most.

Finally, Chief has a protective influence and presence helps protect against evil influences and spiritual forces. People who have the Chief as their Guardian of Destiny typically benefit from good luck as they are always over look by their angel.

Weaknesses

Chief is uncompromising and never bends their rules. It is either Black or white through their live. This kind of mindset and approach can lead to outcomes that are separated from the full complexity of a situation or mitigating factors. It can lead them to make unfair decisions or harsh judgements.

They are selfless but what is good for their group is actually not the best for themselves. They can put other needs ahead of theirs and they could be taken advantage of their kindness.

Finally, Chief people are as vulnerable to gossip as anyone else. Even the most successful leaders can lose support when they are subject to scandal or gossip. In public, everything a leader says and does is subject to intense scrutiny and things can easily be misinterpreted. Chief individuals who occupy important positions must protect their reputation and defend against slander.

Although the Chief is the most of powerful of the 10 Deities, it cannot always be of assistance in a Qi Men context. It is said that when the Chief enters Emptiness, Life cannot be preserved. The Chief entering Emptiness is indicative of a no-win situation where no amount of luck will make a difference. For example, an elderly person with an illness, the Chief entering Emptiness suggests that their death is imminent.

I am SH, a Chinese Metaphysics enthusiast, practitioner, consultant, life transformation coach and also the Founder of SH Astrology Consulting. Chinese Metaphysics such as Bazi and QiMen as always fascinated me. I am always amazed by how Bazi and QiMen could forecast the outcomes and relate encounters that a person can experience with great accuracy when it is being applied correctly. When it come to Feng Shui, the studying of the flow of Qi (Chi) energy can influences the environment around us.These energies can directly or indirectly affect how we operate and affect what we want to achieve. With proper practice, we can create opportunities that help us achieve our goals. SH Astrology was created to share my knowledge in BaZi and also some other Chinese Metaphysics systems like QiMen, Feng Shui, Yi Jing. I would also like to debunk some myths, and irrelevant concepts or beliefs in Chinese Metaphysic which cause confusion and fear in people’s life.
